GridPulse Infrastructure

Travel Plazas

Rest stop and travel plaza phone charging stations for highway stops and welcome centers.

Highway stops are short and the phone is doing navigation, music, calls and payments the entire drive. GridPulse gives travelers, families and professional drivers a way to pick up charged power in the few minutes they are inside.

Charging infrastructure built for short stop cycles at travel plazas, rest stops and welcome centers, operated and serviced by GridPulse.

What the platform delivers

Traveler experience

Navigation, music, calls and payments keep working for the rest of the drive, picked up in a few minutes inside.

Managed deployment

Placement planning, installation coordination, monitoring and service handled by GridPulse across sites.

Travel media and offers

Screens for tourism, dining, lodging, EV and travel-service offers, subject to site approval and the final commercial model.

Measurable operations

Site-level utilization and fleet health reported through PulseOS™ across a multi-site footprint.

Operational reality

Why travel plazas deploy GridPulse

01

Stops are short. A traveler will not sit at an outlet for thirty minutes.

Borrow-and-go means the traveler is charging again within seconds of walking in.

02

Professional drivers depend on the device for routing, logs and communication on long shifts.

A charged Power Pack keeps the phone alive between stops without occupying the cab's limited power.

03

Travel offers are hard to place in front of travelers at the right moment.

Hub screens carry tourism, dining, lodging and travel-service content where travelers pause, under site approval.

04

Multi-site operators need consistent visibility across locations.

PulseOS™ reports utilization and fleet health per site in a single console.

How it works

Borrow a charged Power Pack. Keep moving. Return it at a Hub.

At travel plazas a traveler borrows on the way in and can return at a participating Hub at this site or another site with GridPulse Hubs deployed on the route.

  1. Step 1

    Tap or scan

A guest taps the contactless reader or scans the QR code on the GridPulse Hub™ display. No app download is required to start.

  2. Step 2

    Borrow a charged Power Pack

A charged portable Power Pack releases from the bay. Integrated cables cover the common phone connectors, so nothing else is needed.

  3. Step 3

    Charge while moving

The guest keeps moving through the venue while the device charges — no seat next to an outlet, no waiting at a wall.

  4. Step 4

    Return at a participating Hub

The pack is returned to any open bay at a participating GridPulse Hub™ on the property and the session closes automatically. Returns across separate properties depend on the Hubs deployed in the GridPulse Network™.

Questions

Travel Plazas frequently asked questions

How much space does a travel plaza deployment need?

Hub One™ needs a compact freestanding footprint clear of circulation, and Mini Hub™ sits on an existing counter. Positions are agreed during the site review.

What does it cost the site operator?

GridPulse can structure managed pilots with no site capital purchase, subject to site review and commercial agreement. Commercial terms are operator-specific.

Where do travelers return the Power Pack?

At any open bay on a participating GridPulse Hub™ at this site, or at another site where GridPulse Hubs are deployed in the GridPulse Network™.

Who maintains the units across multiple sites?

GridPulse monitors every site remotely through PulseOS™ and handles service, so site staff are not managing batteries or screen content.

How do advertising and data work?

Screen content is approved by the site operator, and reporting is aggregated utilization and engagement only — no facial recognition and no personally identifying traveler profiles.
