GridPulse Infrastructure

Universities

Campus phone charging stations and power bank kiosks for unions, libraries and athletics venues.

Students move between buildings all day with coursework, transit, ID and payments on one device. GridPulse gives campuses a managed charging amenity that follows students across the union, the library, athletics venues and student services.

Campus infrastructure delivered as a managed service, with content and data practices governed by the institution.

GridPulse Hub™ inside a university student union common area

What the platform delivers

Student experience

Students keep coursework, campus ID, transit and payments available between classes without waiting at an outlet.

Managed deployment

Placement planning, installation coordination, monitoring and service handled by GridPulse across multiple buildings.

Revenue and communications

Campus communications on Hub screens, plus sponsor or partner content only where campus policy allows it.

Measurable operations

Building-level utilization and fleet health reported through PulseOS™ for facilities and student affairs.

Operational reality

Why universities deploy GridPulse

01

Outlet competition in libraries and study spaces turns seating into a scarce resource.

Borrowable Power Packs decouple charging from a specific seat, freeing outlets and study space.

02

Demand is spread across many buildings with very different traffic patterns.

A mixed Hub One™ and Mini Hub™ deployment with per-building utilization reporting in PulseOS™.

03

Facilities budgets rarely absorb new amenity capital.

GridPulse can structure managed pilots with no campus capital purchase, subject to site review and commercial agreement.

04

Campus advertising and student data are governed by strict policies.

Screen content is approved by the institution and reporting is aggregated, with no facial recognition or personally identifying student tracking.

How it works

Borrow a charged Power Pack. Keep moving. Return it at a Hub.

On campus a student typically borrows in the union or library and returns at any participating Hub in another building later the same day.

  1. Step 1

    Tap or scan

A guest taps the contactless reader or scans the QR code on the GridPulse Hub™ display. No app download is required to start.

  2. Step 2

    Borrow a charged Power Pack

A charged portable Power Pack releases from the bay. Integrated cables cover the common phone connectors, so nothing else is needed.

  3. Step 3

    Charge while moving

The guest keeps moving through the venue while the device charges — no seat next to an outlet, no waiting at a wall.

  4. Step 4

    Return at a participating Hub

The pack is returned to any open bay at a participating GridPulse Hub™ on the property and the session closes automatically. Returns across separate properties depend on the Hubs deployed in the GridPulse Network™.

Questions

Universities frequently asked questions

How much space does a campus Hub need?

Hub One™ needs a compact freestanding footprint clear of egress, and Mini Hub™ sits on an existing counter. Positions are agreed with facilities during the site review.

What does it cost the university?

GridPulse can structure managed pilots with no campus capital purchase, subject to site review and commercial agreement. Commercial terms are institution-specific.

Where do students return the Power Pack?

At any open bay on a participating GridPulse Hub™ on campus. Returns beyond campus depend on the Hubs deployed in the GridPulse Network™.

Who maintains the units?

GridPulse monitors the fleet remotely through PulseOS™ and handles service, so campus staff are not managing batteries or screen content.

How are advertising and student data handled?

Content is approved under campus policy, and reporting is limited to aggregated utilization and engagement. No facial recognition and no personally identifying student profiles.
